Dedication to the Environment

Babcock Power plays a quiet but pivotal role in protecting the environment. We do this by helping some of the country’s largest utilities refine and improve their operating and environmental efficiencies. We integrate leading systems and technologies into generation facilities that use oil, coal, gas, nuclear, and renewable fuels. We pioneer new generation technologies in sensitive global environmental markets, such as Brazil. And we apply the same high environmental standards to ourselves, inside Babcock Power, working under the guidance of our bpigreen program. While bpigreen was introduced to our employees in December of 2007, we have been committed to environmental efficiency programs for many years.

Our goal was to reach out to our employees and make them part of our company-wide efforts to operate our company in a more cost effective and environmentally sound manner. Numerous locations within the Babcock Power family of companies are modifying their facilities to utilize more efficient lighting and HVAC systems, as well as promoting recycling programs for paper, plastics, and aluminum cans. By also communicating to our employees and their families that environmental awareness needs to be an important part of everyone’s daily culture, we will be able to successfully serve our customers and grow our business in the years ahead in an environmentally responsible fashion.
